Jack was educated at The Cherwell School, Oxford, and Birmingham University, where he read a degree in Geography and undertook his PGCE. Latterly, he studied at St Mary’s University College, where he completed his Masters in Educational Leadership and Change. A keen beneficiary of the National Professional Qualifications in educational leadership, Jack has completed his NPQH, and in 2019 became one of the first educational leaders in the Country to complete the National Professional Qualification in Executive Leadership (NPQEL).


Jack joins GEP following a successful career in education which began in Surrey at Therfield School, Leatherhead, in 1998, followed by an appointment at Hinchley Wood School, Esher, in 2002. He embarked on an Assistant Head role at The Green School, Hounslow, in 2006 and during this time, became a published educational author for OUP.


In 2008, Jack was appointed Deputy Headteacher at The Glyn School, Ewell. During his time as Deputy, and later as Associate Headteacher, Glyn achieved back-to-back Ofsted Outstanding judgements. Jack was seconded to the Headship of Danetree Junior School in 2011 – a partnership with Glyn that ultimately led to the formation of the GLF Multi-Academy Trust. From 2012-13 Jack worked as a GLF Director and assisted in the establishment and expansion of this Multi-Academy Trust. He was appointed Headteacher of Guildford County School in September 2013, and following an Outstanding Ofsted inspection in January 2017, he became the founding Executive Headteacher of Athena Schools Trust (AST), a Multi-Academy Trust comprising five schools from across educational phases.
